This article covers how to use a Lightfolio Template when creating a document.

To learn how to reuse a document that you’ve already created for a client as a template, go to How To Reuse a Contract, Invoice, or Other Document.

Step 1: Select Your Template From The List

  • Go to the Document Templates tab from the Documents page. The sub-tab Lightfolio Templates will load with a list of template options to choose from.

  • Go to the document template that you’d like to reuse and click on the Three-Dot icon.

  • From the drop-down list, click on the Copy Template item.

  • A Make Template box will pop up. Click on the Yes, Create a Copy button to proceed.

Note: By default, the Lightfolio Template that you’ve copied will appear as “[Template Title] Copy”, e.g., Model Release (Demo) Copy.

Step 2: Edit Your Template (Optional)

This step is optional. To learn how to create a document with your new template, go to Step 3.

  • After copying a Lightfolio template, click on the My Templates sub-tab located next to the Lightfolio Templates sub-tab.

  • Click on the template you’d like to make changes to.

  • The document builder will load your template in Template Mode.

  • In the side menu, you can edit your template’s pages, color palette, payment settings, and more.

Step 3: Create a Document (Optional)

  • To create a new document using your template, go back to the Documents tab on your Documents page.

  • In the Create a Document section, hover over the template you want to use for your new document and click on Create.

  • From there, add your client when prompted, then your new document will load in the Document Builder.
