Important: Prepare Your Contact Data For Importing

Before importing your contact data, make sure your data fields are organized in the same way Lightfolio’s fields are.

To download a template to format your contact information properly, please download our Lightfolio Contacts Template (CSV file).

All contacts must have these fields or they will not be imported:

- The Contact Owner (your name or company name)

- Contact's first name

- Contact's last name

Step 1: Upload Your CSV File

  • Once your contacts CSV file has been organized correctly, go to the main side menu and click on Contacts (under Studio Manager).

  • On the Contacts page, click on the Import button in the upper right corner.

  • The Import page will summarize the steps for you. Click on the Get Started button.

Step 2: Select Your CSV File

  • On the Import Step 1 of 3 page, click on the Select a File button and choose the CSV file you want to upload from your device.

  • Duplicate Handling Rules - Matching: Choose how you want duplicate contacts to be handled.

    • None radio button: Do not match contacts (default)

    • First + Last Name radio button: Match contacts by their names.

    • Email radio button: Match contacts by their names.

  • If you choose to match by name or email, you can decide how matching contacts are handled in the Duplicate Handling Rules - Processing section.

  • When you’re done with the optional settings, click on the Next button.

Note: In the Declare Fixed Fields section, you can choose your business name from the Brand drop-down list. The business name will be copied over into your Contact Owner field.

Step 3: Match The Fields

Lightfolio may automatically recognize some of your CSV field’s files, but it can skip other fields, so you need to match your fields with Lightfolio's.

  • Next to each field name, click on the drop-down list and choose the field from your CSV file.

  • When you’re done mapping your CSV file’s fields to Lightfolio’s fields, click on the Next button.

Step 4: Confirm and Import

  • If all of your fields have been mapped correctly, the Import (Step 3 of 3) page will show the message All fields are mapped.

  • To import your contacts, click on the Next button.

  • An Import Confirmation page will appear, and your contacts will be added to your Lightfolio contacts list.

Note: To download a log of all the contacts that were added, overwritten, or skipped, click on the blue Download Import Log text.
