How To Add or Edit Fields On a Form

To add, edit, or remove a field or other content on your form or questionnaire, follow these steps.

In the Form Builder, you add, edit, and remove many different types of input fields or content fields.

Go to the Forms Page

  • To edit a form or questionnaire, click on the form that you want to edit on the Forms sub-tab next to the My Forms header.

  • To edit a Contact Form, click on the Contact Forms sub-tab, next to the My Forms header, then click on the form that you want to edit.

  • Your form will open in the Form builder.

Add, Move, or Delete a Field

  • To add a field above the one you’re hovering over, click on the top circle plus icon.

  • To add a field under the one you’re hovering over, click on the bottom circle plus icon.

  • Delete a field: Hover over the field you want to delete and click on the trash can icon on the right.

  • Move a field: Hover over the field you want to move, click on the six-dot drag-and-drop icon on the left, then drag the field up or down.

  • Click on the red Save button at the top of the form after making changes.

Input Field Options

After clicking the green circle plus icon, an Add a Field box will pop up.

The leftmost first column has customizable input field options to collect information from clients or customers.

  • Single Line Text field: Collects short answers typed in a field.

  • Number field: This field only accepts numbers as a response.

  • Paragraph Text field: Collects long answers typed in a field.

  • Multiple Choice field: Allows someone to choose one option from a radio button list of multiple choices.

  • Drop-Down field: Allows someone to choose one option from a drop-down list of multiple choices.

  • Checkbox field: Allows someone to choose more than one option from a list of multiple choices.

  • Product field: Lets you add product names with prices as a checkbox list to your form.

  • Payment field: Allows you to collect payment through a form.

Editing Input Fields (Field Panel Options)

After adding an input field from the first column, there are multiple options available to customize them.

  • Required: select the Yes checkbox if a field needs to have an answer before the form is submitted.

  • Label field: Type in the name of the field here.

  • Placeholder field(s): Adds an example or other text in an empty field.

  • Sublabel(s): Adds other text under a field.

  • Instructions: Add instructions or explanations for a field.

  • Field Height (Paragraph fields): Choose a field height number from the dropdown list to set the height of a field. For Paragraph fields only.

  • + A New Option: Add a new choice to your radio button list, checkbox list, or drop-down list. For multiple choice field options only.

  • Max Length: Set the max character limit for a response. For Single Line fields and Number fields only.

Add Contact Information Fields or Date Fields

  • From the Add a Field box, go to the third and rightmost column to add contact information field options such as Name, Email Address, Phone, or Address.

  • To add a Date field, click on the Date option.

Add Headers, Text, or Line Breaks

The second middle column offers four content options.

  • Click on the Header option to add another header and/or a subheader.

  • Click on the Paragraph option to add your own written content on the form (e.g., an intro or a general disclaimer).

  • Click on the Line option to add a line or section break on the form.

Add an Image on the Form

You can add and insert an image from your device onto your form.

  • From the Add a field box, click on the Image option in the middle column.

  • From the Edit Field Panel, click on the Upload Image button to add an image. Select the image you want to use from the dialog box.

  • To delete an image, click on the Delete Image button.

  • To change the image style or shape, choose an option from the Image Style drop-down list.

  • Click on the red Save button at the top of the form after making changes.

Edit Text on a Form

  • To edit text on a form, such as a field label or header, click on the text.

  • A cursor will appear and you should be able to edit from there.

  • Alternatively, from the Edit Field panel, go to the field you want to edit, such as the Label field or the Text field, and edit your text there.

  • Click on the red Save button at the top of the form after making changes.
