By default, emails sent from Lightfolio will be sent using your display name with the email address [email protected]. For example, your clients will see something like this in their inbox: Jessica Clark Photography <[email protected]>

You can update your email settings so that the client will see your business or personal email address instead of the default Lightfolio email address.

If you want to connect a Yahoo email account to Lightfolio, see this article: How to Connect a Yahoo Email Account

Step 1: Access Your Account Settings

Click on your business name in the top right corner, then click on the About Me + Email option.

Step 2: Add Your Email Account

  • Click on the Add Email Account button under the Sending Email header.

  • In the Add/Edit Email Account box that pops up, add the following information:

    • Email Provider: Select the name of your provider (e.g., Outlook, Zoho, GoDaddy)

    • Email Address: Type in your full email address that you want to add.

    • Display Name: Type in the name you want displayed to clients when emailing them (e.g., “Jessica Clark Photography”).

    • Active Account checkbox: If you would like to send outgoing emails from this email address without leaving the Lightfolio platform, select this box.

  • Click on the Save button once you are done.

Step 3: Personalize Your Signature (Optional)

  • After you have added your email account, scroll down to the bottom of the page. Under the Email Signature section, you can customize your email signature.

  • Click on the Save button after doing so.

Step 4: For Gmail and Custom Account Account Users

Using a Gmail Account

After filling out the fields in the Add/Edit Email account box and clicking on the Save & Authorize Gmail button, you will be redirected to your Gmail account page and prompted to confirm connecting Lightfolio to your account.

The page should say something like:

Lightfolio wants to access your Google Account, This will allow Lightfolio to:

1. Send email on your behalf

2. To authorize your Gmail account with the Lightfolio platform, click on Allow.

3. If you ever want to remove this access, just follow these instructions from Google to remove Lightfolio’s access.

Using a Custom account

If you are using a custom email account, additional info is needed to complete the email setup.

  • You will need to enter the following:

    • Your email username

    • Your email password

    • The SMTP settings

    • Display Name: the display name for your email

  • Note: SMTP server settings can be found with company hosting your custom email account.

  • Once you have completed these fields, click on the Test Connection button.

  • If the connection is a success, then click the Save button. Your custom email account is now set up.
